Operating on a UK wide basis since 2004, Cemetery Training Services delivers practical hands-on accredited industry training courses  and competence assessment in all cemetery and ground maintenance to staff at their place of work. Each course is designed to take into account, the lay out and specific problems of each cemetery visited by Cemetery Training Services.

Our courses enable candidates to develop a specific knowledge and understanding of safe practices and procedures to improve safety awareness, customer care, product knowledge and maintenance within their own cemetery environment. This is obtained by offering practical “hands-on” tuition and demonstrations, with the facility for classroom lectures. Each course has the flexibility to be tailor made and designed to benefit both management and candidate alike.

We recognise the benefits of training in this way, not on a disruption basis, but by bringing the training to you. The candidates have the opportunity of tuition within the soil conditions they encounter daily using the type of equipment available to them. We also have the facility to bring a range of equipment to your location to allow everyone to see the latest products available.

We encourage candidates and managers to use actual burials for training and assessment, allowing whenever possible the full running of the cemetery during training and assessment.

All training is industry recognised and will comply with the very latest codes of practice and relevant British Standards where applicable from within the relevant industry as well as equipment manufacturers, major insurance companies’ requirements and Health and Safety Executives guidance. We are delighted to have Lantra accreditation for six of our courses Grave Shoring & Burial, Cemetery Management, Memorial Moving, Dumper Use, Use of Excavators Specific for Burials and Use of a Gantry to Lift and Lower Memorials.  We also work alongside the Federation of Burial and Cremation  Authorities  following the bereavement industries standards.

Our Director Ian Kennedy was instrumental in developing and was the original instructor of a similar training course.
